Although impressionists depicted real life scenes, the textures in method in making them began to allow people to have to interpret what they see. Most of these methods include lots of acrylic paint and pastel and using different strokes and textures to make the realistic scene more unreal. They also relied a lot on color, allowing the different colors to create the image and use the manipulation of the eye to give the illusion of solid objects and lines.
