This painting is called Minds , made by different traits of paintings in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. I used acrylic paints and brushes on foam board to make the texture of the paint as smooth as possible. The main theme behind this painting is the two parts of the brain; the right and the left. The left side of the brain is logical and cool, whereas the right side is creative and emotional. To depict each side of the brain, I used rainbow color hair to give a sense of creativity and the eye, to show truth and beauty can only be seen through creativity. On the other side, the left brain, I used cool blues and whites to give off a sense of logical calmness. To give this a sense of tranquility, I made the hair look like clouds. In our perspective, the creative side is on our left and the logical side is on our right. I did this not, because it is realistically accurate, but instead to make the viewer see in the perspective of the painting just as one might try to “step into another’s shoes.” Once they see through the painting’s perspective, it gives off a sense that this is no longer just a painting, but a representation of an actual human being. |
