Here is a picture of a dead twigs in my front lawn from a nearby bush. I love the clearness of the shot and how the twigs and space around it is sharp where are the background and even the very front foreground is blurry. If i could change anything, i would change the fact that the picture is a bit too busy. The line principle is very evident in this picture however the lines of the grass, wood chips, AND twigs are a bit too busy in terms of directions going everywhere. The rocks in the background and the grass in the left hand corner balance the picture out in the rule of thirds.I would also like to enhance the colors and contrasts of light and dark to make distinctions for the main focus to the rest of the picture.
This is a picture of the morning sky at 7 am in front of my house. I love the contrast of the faded dark colors of the ground against the yellow, blue, white hues. The use of open space in this makes the picture one of my favorites and is balanced still by the solid shape of the trees and houses. I don't know whether or not i like the slight detail of the houses and cars or if i should have made a dark contrast like the trees to apply shaping to the photo. I like the lighting in the left hand corner and how it makes a sort of focal point so it isn't right smack in the middle. the fading light into the blue brings your eye from left to right bringing the person's eye throughout the picture.
This is a picture of berries on a tall hedge in my front yard. i personally love the contrast between the black berries and the light blue sky. I also like how since the berries have a blue-black tint it still compliments the blue of the sky in the background without blending into the color. I like how the branch comes from the left side into the middle and slightly to the right so that your eye goes to the hole picture in terms of shaping and the line principle. The trees in the background are blurred but the shapes are still their reaching towards the top, but still giving a wider space of the sky blue. If i could change it, i personally think its a little too bus.
